Ashgabat, October 1 - International School Sport Federation had the honour of attending and presenting at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union 55th General Assembly in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The theme of the forum was built around the New Media Era and broadcasting for a diverse audience, while the goal was establishing new international partnerships and sharing experiences in the various fields of media and broadcasting.
At ABU 55th General Assembly and 63rd Sport Group conference, ISF held a presentation on federation's work, development and Gymnasiade 2020 (Jinjiang, China).
The aim of presentation were potential new cooperation and partnerships with Asian-Pacific media and other organisations, as well as promotion of ISF's biggest School Sport event - Gymnasiade School Summer Games and its young athletes - among the global sport stakeholders.

Members of the ABU forum had a chance of learning about the vision, work and dimension of ISF and its members around the World, and the strong development School Sport has been experiencing for the past couple of years.
ISF also participated at a meeting with Mr Dayanch Gulgeldiyev, Minister of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, Mr Agamyradov Gulmyrat, Deputy Minister (of Sport and Youth Policy) and Mr Azat Muradov - Secretary General of theTurkmenistan's National Olympic Committee.
Since Turkmenistan has been establishing a strategy of hosting international sport events, the topics of discussion were the development of School Sport and possible participation of Turkmenistan in the ISF as a member and event organiser.

In 2017 Turkmenistan hosted the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, and is also about to welcome athletes from all over the World at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championship (in Ashgabat, November 2018).
The attendance of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union 55th General Assembly was a valuable and productive opportunity for the ISF to spread its vision and work across several fields of media and among leading, global sport stakeholders.
