This weekend has not been like any other weekend for the members of the ISF Executive Committee (EC) as all of them have been in the air on their way to Johannesburg, South Africa for the 2nd Executive Committee taking place from Saturday, October 24, to Friday, October 30. Previously this year, the EC members met in Doha, Qatar for the 1st Executive Committee, which proved to be a week filled with constructive and fruitful discussions. Hopefully this week’s meetings in Johannesburg will turn out likewise.
Several topics are on the agenda for the following days and to highlight just a few the first presentation of the ISF Vision 2030 and the designation of the World Schools Championships for 2018 are some of them.
Everyone arrived Saturday, which was reserved for this purpose, and to start off Sunday, the management- and continental presidents met for breakfast before the following departure to Soweto. Monday is the official opening of the EC at the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) with the SASCOC Vice President, Mr Les Williams, and SASCOC General Manager, Ms Patience Shikwambana, present. The other days’ EC meetings will also be held at the SASCOC, however, Tuesday afternoon the EC members will have a change of setting when they depart for an excursion to Pilanesberg Game Reserve from where they will return Wednesday to resume the EC meetings.
