This year will see the International School Sport Federation launch its inaugural ISF U15 World School Sport Games, hosted by the Serbian School Sport Federation in the city of Belgrade. This event is the largest international multi-sport event for school students from 13-15 years old, gathering from all around the world to compete in 14 different sports, namely Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Basketball 3x3, Chess, Football, Judo, Karate, Orienteering, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball, and Wrestling.
See here below the first promotional video of the event:
Participants will be given the opportunity to combine high-level competition with educational programmes including seminars and workshops, designed to develop leadership skills in addition to raising awareness on important policies and topics, such as physical education and health, gender equality and fair play. Cultural activities and visits during the event will also provide opportunities to experience the culture and heritage of Serbia, as well as allow the participants the chance to present their own cultures and traditions, creating cross cultural exchanges between all participants throughout the event.
ISF President, Laurent Petrynka:
“It is essential to continue to create and promote sport opportunities for youth, allowing them to establish healthy lifestyle habits, develop leadership skills, and discover competences whilst gaining a better understanding of the world, from as early an age as possible. This is even more the case now, with the COVID-19 pandemic severely limiting opportunities to engage in sport, physical activity, as well as basic human interaction. International sport events such as the ISF U15 World School Sport Games are hugely important in creating unique personal and sporting experiences for youth and contributing to their development. We would like to thank the Serbian School Sport Federation for hosting this inaugural event, accepting this new challenge, and helping to pave the way for younger school student athletes.”
