The European School Sport Day (ESSD) is a day celebrating having fun and playing together while also promoting physical activity, education and health for school youth, and everyone else.
This year it's being held on September 28 as part of the European Week of Sport (Sept 23-30), and is open to any kind of physical activity that has a mission of encouraging children to be active for at least 120 minutes per the day.
ESSD is inspired by the Hungarian School Sport Day; an event which has been organised by the Hungarian School Sport Federation for the last 10 years. Its aim is to:
International School Sport Federation commits to spreading the message on the importance of physical activity for youth as the official partner of European week of Sport and European School Sport Day 2018.
This year's opening ceremony of the European Week of Sport will be held alongside Austria's Day of Sport in Vienna on 22 September 2018; see the programme of the 2018 EWoS Opening.
