2016 ended with the second ISF Executive Committee-EC organised the School Games Federation of India-SGFI, the ISF Indian member.
The EC took place in the hosting city of the first World Schools Championship Cricket 2017 in Mumbai, which is one of the many projects India is going to conduct toward the development of school sport.
The first session reported the activities of the Management Committee and Continental Presidents who are currently structuring their continental activities with innovative format and initiatives. Next year will be rich in continental events, with 4 Asian school sport events and an Asian forum, Europe will host its first ERAMUS+ project and a European meeting, Pan-American school games in Brazil and Pacific School Games in Australia, both namely to be held in December 2017.
The ISF administration, marketing and communication units also presented to the ISF EC tools that are being currently created to follow the development of the structure and events.
The second session of the ISF Executive Committee intended to follow the VISION2030 with the strategic points the development of Gymnasiade requires.
The following countries are official candidates for organising ISF Gymnasiade 2020:

- Chinese Taipei
Evaluation visits will take place from January 2017 till July 2017. 4th September is the official deadline for submitting the bidbook and the presentation will take place at the EC-II 2017 next October in Sardinia.
It was also the occasion to attribute the ISF Events 2019 and accept the organisation of new sports as a respond to the need for more innovation and modernity.

- Triathlon: Carcassonne, France
- Flying Disk: Le Mans, France
On the Agenda were also all the progress reports of the upcoming events 2017 and the designation of the ISF delegates for the ISF events 2018. A new event has been added to the Calendar, World Schools Championship of Sambo 2018, to be held in Oryol, Russia.
As a respond to the needs toward more innovative and educative school sport, the EC accepted the new members of the Youth Council coming from Croatia, France, Montenegro, Portugal, Hungary, Turkey, Russia, Qatar, India, China as the Vice-Chair and Serbia being led a Chairwoman. Another commission, disciplinary commission was approved for creation which is composed of 2 EC members and 1 TC president.
ISF welcomes a new member, Kazakhstan which just created its own school sport federation.
The agenda ended with an initiative of the School Sport Foundation (read more here ). Based on that 1st initiative, the Executive Committee unanimously approved similar donations to be conducted at each ISF events with materials collected from each foreign delegation.
Next Executive Committee- EC-I 2017 is scheduled from 24th till 29th May in Papeete, the host city of the next ISF WSC Beach Volleyball from 27th May till 03rd June 2017.
