Today, on 8 June 2021, ISF Executive Committee Nurzhan Nurakhmetov of Kazakhstan had a meeting in the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, with the Director of State Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports Kanat Shabdanbaev.
The two parties discussed the potential for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and ISF, and the possible preparation for an ISF delegation to visit the city of Bishkek, along with plans for the development of school leagues and the participation of Kyrgyz school students in ISF projects around the world. Special attention was paid to the required steps for creating and strengthening the Federation of School Leagues of Kyrgyzstan and together developed some recommendations to improve the efficiency of its activities. In addition, during the talks, parties initiated the implementation of physical culture and sports projects with the participation of central Asian countries, including the organisation of the Central Asian School Games (CASG).
The head of the Kyrgyz department was very enthusiastic about the ISF's interest towards the formation and development of school sports in Kyrgyzstan and emphasised the important role of the ISF in terms of promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the mass involvement of youth in sport through education. Following the meeting, a plan for further actions, including those focused on the integration of Kyrgyzstan within the ISF, was proposed.
