The Curtain Falls on a Historic Edition of the ISF World School Golf Championship

The inaugural edition of the ISF World School Golf Championship concluded with a vibrant and heartfelt closing ceremony in Rabat, Morocco.

Led by the rhythms of a traditional Moroccan percussion ensemble, all 16 school sport delegations from four continents proudly marched into the venue—marking the close of a week filled with international competition, cultural exchange, and lasting memories.

The closing ceremony was honoured by the presence of Mr. Saad Bensouda, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mr. Željko Tanasković, President of the International School Sport Federation (ISF), and Mr. Ali Bensouda, President of the Local Organising Committee (LOC). Each delivered heartfelt addresses reflecting on the success and significance of this first-ever ISF school golf event.

Following the speeches, the three guests presented medals and trophies to the top-performing athletes and delegations across each competition category.

As the championship concludes, it is clear that this event has set a new milestone in the history of school sport. Delegations spoke highly of the world-class competition venues, the professional event organisation, and the educational and cultural experiences provided throughout the week.

Highlights included the ISF Cultural Day, which gave participants a chance to explore iconic Moroccan landmarks, and the Nations Night, where students shared music, dance, and food from their home countries in a joyous celebration of unity and diversity.

Thanks to the strong momentum generated by this championship, several ISF member federations have already confirmed their intention to participate in the next edition. Additionally, a number of national school sport organisations have expressed plans to collaborate with their national golf federations to develop domestic school golf programmes—helping to grow the sport from the grassroots and identify future school golf champions to represent their countries at ISF events.

With this unforgettable chapter now closed, the ISF World School Golf Championship leaves behind a powerful legacy—one of excellence, inclusion, education, and international friendship through sport.
