Before the First Swing: What to Expect from ISF WSC Golf 2025
Jul. 13, Rabat, Morocco – The waiting is about over: the inaugural ISF World School Golf Championship 2025 is set to officially open tomorrow in Morocco’s vibrant capital. As delegations arrive and begin their final preparations on the practice greens of Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, the atmosphere is already charged with anticipation.
ISF and the Local Organising Committee are fully ready—course flags are up, scorecards are printed, and the world of school golf is about to make history.
A Milestone in School Sport History
This marks the first-ever ISF World School Championship of Golf, a landmark in the evolution of school sport. ISF President Željko Tanasković highlighted the event’s significance:
"The organisation of the first-ever ISF World School Golf Championship in Morocco marks a historic milestone for the international school sport movement. It represents the official inclusion of golf in the ISF programme and clearly reflects our commitment to diversifying sporting opportunities for young student-athletes worldwide."
Beyond the historic first, the championship underscores the growing role of golf in youth development. Golf fosters concentration, patience, and self-discipline while promoting outdoor physical activity. Introducing the sport to young people within school settings helps nurture not only physical fitness but also mental resilience and lifelong well-being.
A Truly Global Field
The inaugural edition brings together 136 participants from 17 countries across four continents. These young athletes, alongside their coaches, are eager to represent their schools and nations on one of the sport’s most iconic stages.
Organised by Experts, Built for Legacy
The event will unfold on the world-class Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, a venue known for hosting professional championships and equipped with elite training and competition facilities.
At the helm of organisation is the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG), whose long-standing experience in professional event management brings exceptional expertise to the championship. From signage and course branding to tournament operations, their high standards create an immersive and inspirational environment.
Notably, FRMG has committed to hosting the ISF WSC Golf in 2025, 2026, and 2028, underscoring their long-term vision to promote golf in school systems. This sustained partnership leverages ISF’s global reach and educational mission to inspire a new generation of golfers.
An Educational Championship at Its Core
As with all ISF events, education is central to the championship.
With the support of Morocco’s Ministry of National Education and ISF Member Organisation Federation Royale Morocaine du Sport Scolaire, the championship benefits from a unique partnership with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), which provides comfortable and accessible accommodations and meals for all participants.
Further enriching the educational dimension, the ISF Academy delivers a dedicated online pre-event training course for Heads of Delegation and Coaches, covering topics such as:
-
Safeguarding in Sport
-
Anti-Doping Prevention
-
Injury Prevention and Performance
In parallel, ISF is also delivering an on-site seminar for local PE teachers—a three-day programme designed to enhance their knowledge and teaching skills in physical education. Conducted in collaboration with academic institutions and expert educators, these sessions will empower local teachers to apply modern, student-focused training principles in their own classrooms.
