ISF U15 WSC Volleyball 2025 at the corner

Dec. 4, Shangluo, China — Delegations from across the world are now arriving in Shangluo, P.R.China, ahead of the ISF U15 World School Volleyball Championship 2025, marking the start of an exciting week of school sport, cultural exchange, and international cooperation.

13 boys’ teams and 18 girls’ teams representing 17 delegations have registered to this event, accompanied by coaches, officials, and Family & Friends supporters — bringing the total number of participants to over 550. As teams complete their registration and settle into the host city, preparations are in full swing for the official opening of the event.

The Opening Ceremony will take place on 5 December at 19:30 local time at the Shangluo Gymnasium. The event will welcome representatives of ISF, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), China Student Sports Federation (CSSF), and the Shangluo Municipal Government, local organising bodies and key stakeholders.

Situated near one of China’s renowned ancient capitals, Shangluo offers a unique blend of mountain landscapes, historical heritage, and vibrant local culture.
During the Cultural Day, athletes and supporters will explore the region firsthand, gaining insight into its traditions, scenery, and community life — reinforcing ISF’s commitment to combining sport with education and cultural learning.

In recent years, Shangluo has set a clear ambition to become a leading “Volleyball City”, actively hosting both national competitions and FIVB-level international events. Beginning 2025, Shangluo will host four consecutive editions of ISF World School Volleyball Championships across different age categories, further demonstrating the city’s sustained commitment to developing volleyball and promoting its growth at school and youth levels.

The competition will reach its climax on 12 December, when the boys’ and girls’ finals take place.
Both finals will be broadcast live worldwide on the Olympic Channel, providing young athletes with global visibility on an Olympic-aligned platform and giving families around the world the chance to follow the action.

As with every ISF event, the Championship will include ISF Academy educational workshops on key topics such as Safeguarding in Sport and Anti-Doping Education. Workshops are designed to reinforce ISF values and help young athletes build lifelong knowledge in sport integrity, well-being, and athlete care.

To ensure all participants feel protected, respected, and supported, ISF has appointed a dedicated ISF Safeguarding Officer (Hera Liew), who will work closely with the Local Safeguarding Officer (Yuan Liu) throughout the event.
They will be available at all times to provide guidance, manage concerns, and respond confidentially to any issues related to participant welfare.

ISF reaffirms that safeguarding is a shared responsibility across delegations, staff, volunteers, and all stakeholders, and remains a fundamental pillar of every ISF event.

As delegations complete their arrival and prepare for competition, anticipation is building for a week that will not only showcase exceptional volleyball but also foster new friendships, cultural understanding, and educational impact.
