Oct. 17, Seoul, Korea – ISF President Željko Tanasković and Secretary General Hasnae El Ayoubi met with World Taekwondo President Dr. Chungwon Choue and Secretary General Jeongkang Seo in Seoul, reaffirming the close relationship between the two organisations and their shared commitment to developing Taekwondo in international school sport.
ISF and World Taekwondo formalised their cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding signed during the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024. Since then, the two organisations have maintained close contact, working to strengthen the connection between international Taekwondo and school sport.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the continued development of Taekwondo within ISF's sporting programme and opportunities to engage more young people through the sport. Discussions also touched on emerging competition formats, including Virtual Taekwondo and Para Taekwondo, and the potential to broaden participation through different forms of Taekwondo.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both organisations to reaffirm their existing cooperation and maintain dialogue on future developments. Through its relationship with World Taekwondo, ISF continues to promote international sporting opportunities for school students, bringing together competition, education and exchange among young people worldwide.
