In his speech, ISF President Željko Tanasković expressed his appreciation to the host city, the Local Organising Committee and the volunteers for their work and warm welcome. Highlighting the role of school sport beyond competition, he underlined its contribution to young people's health, confidence, friendships and personal development, while recalling the shared values of excellence, friendship and respect within the Olympic Movement.

Referring to golf in particular, the ISF President noted that the sport teaches patience, honesty, discipline and respect for others, reminding athletes that the way they play is just as important as the final result. He also encouraged the young golfers to challenge themselves, enjoy the opportunity to meet new friends and discover different cultures, and make the most of their experience on the course.

The ISF World School Golf Championship 2026 brings together 16 delegations and 103 participants, provides young athletes with an opportunity to compete, meet peers from different countries and experience the values of school sport.

The event now gets underway in Agadir, bringing together young athletes through their shared passion for golf and the spirit of school sport.
