Mexico’s Minister of Sport meets with ISF leadership to expand youth sport opportunities
Mexico’s Minister of Sport, Rommel Pacheco, met with ISF President Željko Tanasković, Executive Director Hasnae El Ayoubi, and Sport Director Marko Petrič at the ISF headquarters in Lausanne. The meeting focused on exchanging insights on ISF event structures, educational programmes, and Mexico’s long-standing involvement in international school sport.
A former Universiade gold medallist in diving, Minister Pacheco shared his deep understanding of the athlete’s journey and highlighted the importance of providing young athletes with international platforms to learn, compete, and grow. His perspective resonated strongly with ISF’s mission to create meaningful opportunities for school athletes and the wider youth generation through sport and education.
The discussion also touched upon the potential for future ISF events to be hosted in Mexico, further strengthening the country’s role in the global school sport community.
