ISF leader visits Judo Grand Slam in Budapest to Strengthen International Sports Cooperation
Sep. 15, Budapest, Hungary – ISF President Željko Tanasković visited Budapest at the invitation of International Judo Federation (IJF) President Marius Vizer, attending the IJF Hungary Grand Slam 2026 and meeting with representatives of the international sports community.
Held at the Sport Arena, the Hungary Grand Slam 2026 brought together many of the world’s leading judokas as well as representatives from across the international sports movement. For ISF, the visit provided an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and explore opportunities for future cooperation with international sports organisations.
During his stay, President Tanasković held a series of discussions with representatives of the international sports community, exchanging views on the development of sport and the role of international cooperation in creating opportunities for young people.
The programme also brought together representatives of major international sports institutions, including the International Olympic Committee, the World Phygital Sports Federation, as well as representatives of the Government of Hungary. Such gatherings provided opportunities for further dialogue and exchange beyond the sporting competition itself.
The visit to Budapest also highlighted the broader role of international sporting events as platforms for dialogue, partnership and exchange between organisations and countries.
For ISF, participation in top level international sport events contributes to strengthening relationships with international federations and institutions and increasing the visibility of school sport within the wider international sports movement. ISF's continued engagement with international sports organisations supports its mission of empowering young people through sport and education, while creating opportunities for cooperation across sports and borders.
