ISF Officials Visit Republic of Srpska to Celebrate 23 Years of School Sport Development
Oct. 10, Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska – ISF President Željko Tanasković, together with ISF Executive Committee Member Stylianos Daskalakis, paid a visit to the Republic of Srpska to mark the 23rd anniversary of the School Sport Federation of the Republic of Srpska.
During the visit, ISF officials met with Selma Čabrić, Minister of Family, Youth and Sports, as well as Gorica Bilak-Moconja, President of the ISF member federation of the Republic of Srpska.
President Tanasković expressed his appreciation for the Republic of Srpska’s continued engagement in international school sport and its commitment over the past decade to providing meaningful opportunities for young athletes to participate, learn, and grow through sport.
As part of his visit, ISF officials also toured the Sports Museum in Banja Luka, which has hosted for the past five months an exhibition dedicated to school sport, featuring several items from ISF events and other school sport activities. The exhibition highlights the development of school sport in the region and its strong connection to the global ISF movement. During the visit, the ISF President Commended the organisers for their dedication to preserving the history and legacy of youth sport.
Looking ahead, the Republic of Srpska School Sport Federation continues to play an increasingly important role within the European school sport community. According to recent reports, Banja Luka will host the European School Futsal Championship next year, a milestone that reflects more than two decades of commitment, professionalism, and growth by the local ISF member federation.
President Tanasković congratulated the Federation on this achievement, noting that such progress demonstrates how sustained investment in school sport can inspire future generations and strengthen the broader ISF network across Europe.
