In the heart of the Middle East, the Kingdom of Bahrain is gearing up to host the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, promising to be the largest international school-sport event ever organized in ISF, with over 5,000 athletes from all over the world expected to take part.

The Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024 will showcase a total of 25 diverse sporting disciplines, including archery, badminton, basketball 3x3, beach volleyball, boxing, fencing, gymnastics, handball, judo & para judo, karate, swimming & para swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, wrestling, and more to the vast ISF network of 200,000 schools across 134 members.

However, this event isn't just about traditional sports; it's also set to feature Handball and Padel, two sports that hold a special place in Bahrain's sporting landscape.

Indeed, handball has become a fixture in the country's sports scene. The sport's appeal to Bahraini youth is on the rise, thanks to dedicated youth development programs and world-class training facilities. The nation proudly fields a national handball team, competing in regional and international tournaments, with a recent silver medal achievement at the 19th Asian Games.

On the other hand, Padel is also making waves in Bahrain. This racquet sport has garnered a dedicated following with the establishment of exclusive padel courts and clubs. Beyond the competitive aspect, Padel has fostered a vibrant social scene, attracting both recreational players and aspiring professionals. The construction of new padel courts across the country underscores the sport's burgeoning popularity and promising future in Bahrain.

But there's more. During the "1-Year countdown before ISF Gymnasiade 2024" press conference Mr. Ishaq, Chairman of the Executive Organizing Committee for the ISF Gymnasiade 2024, announced plans to expand the sporting repertoire even further. In addition to the existing 25 sports, discussions are underway to introduce new disciplines, enhancing the event's already impressive lineup.

Mr. Ishaq's announcement serves as a testament to Bahrain's unwavering commitment to creating an ecosystem conducive to the success of this international sporting spectacle. Not only does the Kingdom aspire to bolster its presence on the global sports map, but it also seeks to demonstrate its remarkable ability to host and participate in the largest and most prestigious of international sporting events.
